OUR STORY
Apex Pictures is an award-winning film production company based in Belfast, founded by Carleton Rodgers and Michael Costello in 2016.
What started with a simple ambition to make films has taken our work to over 100 festivals worldwide.
Along the way we’ve made films with the support of the BFI and Northern Ireland Screen, with Frankie, I’ll Be Frank and Teeny screening at BAFTA and Academy Award® qualifying festivals in the UK, Ireland and the US.
Our latest short, Calamity Wayne, takes us back to 1960s Belfast and is currently making its way onto the festival circuit.
OUR VISION
We’ve always believed you should dream big with what you put on screen.
We’ve recreated 1960s Belfast, chased UFOs and sent people into space, but sometimes the biggest challenge is simply telling a small story well.
That’s the part of filmmaking we enjoy — taking an idea and figuring out how to make it real.
We’re proud of where we come from and of working with the actors, writers, directors and crews who continue to make our biggest dreams possible.
OUR FUTURE
Apex has come a long way since our first film in 2016, but we’ve so much more we want to achieve.
Every film has given us the chance to try something new, work with new people and push ourselves a little further than before. But there are bigger stories we want to tell and bigger films we want to make.
We’re just getting started.
